Nova Scotia Tartan Tie - 100 % pure new wool, made in Scotland

The Nova Scotia Tartan represents the flag of the Province which dates back to the Charter of New Scotland  granted to Sir William Alexander (Earl of Stirling) by King James VI of Scotland and I of England in 1621.

Nova Scotia has the proud distinction of being the only Province of Canada and the first colony of Great Britain to possess (through Royal Charter) its own flag and the colors of the tartan tell their own story.

The blue is for the sky, sea and lakes. Green is for the trees and white is for the rocks and surf of the coastline. The gold band surrounding the blue and green represents the Royal Charter and the red lines crossing suggest the Scottish Lion on the gold shield of the Provincial crest.
